Welcome to our lodge located on the five star awarding winning Pen-y-Garth park. This is our second home and we trust that you will make it your home while you are with us. So that we can maintain the high standards for many guests to enjoy for years to come, there are a few things that we would politely ask for your help with…
We hope you will enjoy many of the outdoor activities that Bala has to offer but please remove any wet or muddy outdoor clothing or boots/wellies as you enter the lodge. There is a useful utility cupboard to store items like this right by the front door, as well as a washer/dryer if you need to make use of it during your stay.
Personal items
We have left a number of personal items here to make it more homely which you are free to use during your stay such as our BBQ, patio furniture etc, all we ask is that if you use them, you leave them clean and ready for the next guest, just as you expected upon your arrival.
Your views
Your comments and feedback are always welcome; either in the guest book which is located in the lodge or by posting a comment on this website. We will from time to time take the hand written comments from the guest book and post them online.

We had a fantastic time at the lodge over the past week. The lodge is stunning, so spacious and very clean! It had everything we needed (and more!) and was very well equipped. Stunning views and the site was so peaceful, with a lovely park for the little ones.
The hot tub was already hot and ready for us when we got there and was also amazing.
Lodge 58 was a dream and just what we needed! Thank you and we will 100% be back 🙂
Pen-Y-Garth is due to reopen on the 20th July, due to Covid-19 restriction the physical guest book will be removed from the lodge. Wonderful accommodation in a great location to explore North Wales and Snowdonia. We were so happy with how well equipped the lodge is, plenty of great games and DVD to watch of an evening. Will definitely be booking to come back and asking for this lodge.
Very clean, big space, lovely fireplace. One thing they did not have was soap to wash your hands in the bathroom. The bed rooms are good sizes. He hot tub was so good. The views, the walks and the little town was brilliant. Love to stay here again!

We all had the most amazing stay. I work for TUI and have been lucky enough to travel all over the world but lodge 58 was stunning! Fabulous location, wonderful scenery, all the creature comforts, home from home. The lodge is better than my home. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. We all loved I that much and cannot wait to come back again real soon. A special thank you to the park manager who was amazing and very welcoming.

What an incredible holiday, such a lovely home away from home. Came away for my birthday and was not a disappointment. It was our first holiday away together and such a romantic place to be. We’ve had a fabulous stay in Wales. The accommodation has been far beyond what we expected and hot tub was wonderful. We spent a wonderful day walking and kayaking at Lake Bala, visited King Arther’s Labyrinth (great for kids and nice focus on stories and culture) and visited Betws Y Coed and Conwy Castle. We didn’t make it to the top of Snowdon because the train was all booked up. We’ll have to come back and would love to stay at Pen Y Garth. The only thing I’d wish for is a footpath down to Bala. Thanks for a great stay.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our first family holiday in lodge 58. Lodge is beautiful, great plot and view from hot tub. We really couldn’t have asked for any better. Will be for sure booking this lodge again for next family holiday. Thank you so much.
We have had the most pleasant and relaxing week here. Enjoyed every minute in his beautiful lodge and hot tub. Had brilliant weather, done loads of cycling and walking, totally recommend staying here. Thank you.
We’ve had a great stay in Wales and packed so much in. We enjoyed zip world – great for kids and adults as well. Only got 2/3 of the way up Snowdon as it was too windy for the train to go further. Going to walk it next time. Went for nice bike ride locally and the children loved cycling round the lodges as it was so safe. We will be back again.

Another superb week at Pen Y Garth. Good weather and excellent accommodation at the lodge. Food at The Eagle as good as it always is. We will miss the views of the mountains. Bird watching at Lake Vernwy very good. Great drives over the mountain roads.

We’ve had a fabulous weekend celebrating a 50th birthday. The lodge was brilliant, hot tub was amazing and wonderful to return to after each leg of our 29 mile walk in many Jones footsteps. Read about it on the bible society website.
What a lovely lodge- home from home. Spotless and wonderfully organised. Beautiful area, great meals out, the eagles was lovely. White water rafting was great, plane spotting military aircraft training area, parked at Cad West, fabulous steam engines day trip out from Tylwn. Highly recommended, lots of fun, we’ll be back. Stayed here over new year. We all had a lovely time. Area is very peaceful, lodge is lovely, clean and well equipped. Would love to stay again in the future.
This visit was a surprise xmas present from our daughter (Mrs Pearce). This is our third visit to Pen Y Garth, twice in Lodge 58, our last visit was 11.09.17 when the weather was terrible, however this visit is much better. As usual, the lodge is really cosy and warm, hot tub is excellent – been in use every day. Definitely see you again next year. Relaxing and tranquil what more do you need. Merry Christmas everyone.

Another lovely weekend in Lodge 58. Warm and cosy with everything you need. Visited Barmouth with nice beach and promenade walk, places. To eat and individual shops. Avoid eating in the Boat side restaurant, very expensive for what you get. Thanks for letting us stay here … again!

Fantastic lodge, exactly what we needed for a half term break. Lots of space, comfortably furnished, well equipped kitchen. Hot tub was a personal highlight – could be more private though. Great base for exploring North Wales. Thank you for a great stay.
Thanks for the feedback on privacy, we had the park plant a number of bamboo, low trees and other bushes around the front of the lodge to provide better privacy this spring. These are growing nicely and deliver a nice balance of shelter from passing vehicles while not obscuring the beautiful mountain views.
Accommodation was first class, lovely hot tub. Can here to relax, beautiful surroundings – lovely walks. Kitchen very well equipped only missing dish cloths to wipe the sides down. Thank you for a lovely stay! Will definitely be returning soon! Will return with some friends (Trevor) look out!

Accommodation was amazing, loads of space and very well equipped. Everything clean and to a very high standard. Hot tub was the highlight, best way to relax after a hard day out. Amazing views and family friendly staff. Can’t wait to stay again !
Perfect lodge, well equipped apart from a teapot (we are tea drinkers). Excellent hot tub and views although for us the weather was horrendous! We were comfortable and. Warm but most of all relaxed. Highley recommended, staff very pleasant. See you all again.
We apologise for the missing teapot, there is one on the inventory so it should have been present. We do have breakages from time to time which may not get picked up at change over, especially if guests don’t declare accidents at checkout. If there is anything missing in the future then please ask the park and they will replace this straight away.
Excellent lodge with all facilities, good quality equipment. Hot tub was perfect, great views and staff were good and caring.
Accommodation was perfect, would definitely stay again. Well equipped, modern and the hot tub was just great. Will be recommending to friends.
Stayed to climb Cadair Idris with my son. Found everything we needed and much more in the accommodation. Would stay again, very enjoyable stay.
PS. The Minffordd path was not as easy (far harder) as I expected for a 14 year old. Thanks again for your superb accommodation.

Beautiful location with everything we could have wished for. Even with rain the first two days we found things to do, relaxed and switched off, lovely !
Highly recommend the Eagle for food; the ice cream & waffle shop im Bala ‘Fran’ ice cream is just heavenly … & Relaxing in the hot tub.
Everyone on we have met, been served by, asked for help etc have been so lovely, gone out of their way to assist. It’s been a real breath of fresh air being here and just what we needed.

We have visited North Wales many years ago, this is the first time in this area. Lodge 58 our home for this week 10/10. Lovely location with mountain views and lots to do out and about. We found the lodge very comfortable and clean, it has everything we needed to make our stay a very relaxing break, love the hot tub !

An excellent week with superb weather. Revisited some old haunts, all as good as we remembered them.
Some good restaurants we visited were : The Eagle at the south end of Bala lake, George III near Dolgelleu
The lodge has all you could need in a superb location, Hot tub, Mountains Views, Excellent layout. We will have to return.

Thank you so much! We had booked the lodge to escape for a few days as we had suffered a family bereavement, it was just what we all needed. The site and lodge were perfect, no complaints, only praise, really didn’t want to ever leave sadly, school and work are calling us home 🙁

If I could I would buy this place, it’s amazing and everything we need to stay a week in comfort. Like a home away from home, the views are amazing, the weather wasn’t so good but it didn’t stop us enjoying the hot tub and still went in when it was hailing 🙂

We were more than impressed with the standard of the lodge, it had everything we needed plus more, very clean modern + relaxed. It was a 3 day break away from very busy lives but we did manage to properly relax and the hot tub was just what we needed! We will definitely come again and recommend you to our friends.

Wow what an amazing lodge, lovely views from the lounge windows, wonderfully comfortable with all the essential you need. Great location for touring and sightseeing.
Most enjoyed the hot tub to relax after a long day, just heaven !
We highly recommend ‘white lion Royal Hotel’ for good food and friendly staff, avoid the fish and chip shop, poor quality of food. We would love to return some day.
